The front strand carries the largest beads; the smaller ones taper back toward the closure, so the color runs unbroken around the collarbone. It fastens at the nape with a hand-tied button-and-loop, and layers easily over a longer pendant.

The Story

The double-strand construction and mix of large and small beads follow a common approach in Ecuadorian seed jewelry — irregular focal beads paired with smaller accents and brass spacers, so the piece reads as layered rather than uniform. The spacers add structure and a warm metallic note against the organic palette.

Acai and pambil seeds come from palms native to the Ecuadorian rainforest. Once dried, they are sorted by size, polished, and dyed to bring out saturated jewel tones, then hand-drilled and strung with glass beads and spacers by eye rather than to a fixed pattern.

Because each seed is a natural material, the color distribution on every necklace is unrepeatable. The piece you receive is the only one with that exact sequence of tones.
