About Beaded Necklaces

Each of these is built from many small parts: carved wood and horn discs strung in multiple strands, so the necklace sits as one full shape across the collarbone. Natural wood tones sit next to dyed color, and several close with a horn clasp.

All are made in the Philippines. Wood is light, so even the fullest of them wears comfortably.

How they wear

The multi-strand pieces sit in a band across the collarbone rather than a single line, so they fill a neckline the way a scarf would. Wear them over a plain top or dress, and leave the earrings small. Lengths run from 17.5 in collars to 31 in strands, and prices from $56 to $65.

All are made in the Philippines from carved wood and horn. Most close with a hand-carved horn hook.

Are wood bead necklaces heavy?

No. Wood is one of the lightest materials in jewelry, so even a six-strand collar wears comfortably all day. The horn clasp adds almost nothing.

How do I care for wood and horn jewelry?

Keep it dry. Wood and horn are natural materials that can swell or dull if soaked, so take pieces off before swimming or showering. A soft cloth is all they need; never use polish or chemical cleaners.
