The Story

Wood and horn are a Philippine specialty — coconut shell, buffalo horn and native hardwoods turned into jewelry components by small workshops that grew out of a mid-20th-century export craft. The discs here are cut from wood dowels, sanded round, and dyed in small batches.

The twisted multi-strand form takes that base skill in a graphic direction. Stringing dozens of small, uniform discs across several cords lets the piece move and catch light like woven fabric, while the shift from red to black gives it color-blocked weight without any metal or stone doing the work.
