Because the discs are cut and dyed by hand from natural wood and the closure is shaped from natural horn, color depth and grain vary slightly from piece to piece.

Made in the Philippines, where flat wooden discs are a signature of local beadwork studios — light enough to stack in multi-strand volume without the heft of glass or stone.

The ombre is built one dye bath at a time, each strand shifting gradually from pale pink to deep red before the strands are combined so the color moves as a single wave across the piece.

The closure is shaped separately from natural horn, cleaned and polished into a curved hook-and-eye that pairs a glossy finish with the matte warmth of the dyed wood.
