The Story

The necklace is made in the Philippines, long the hub for wood and horn accessories. Local hardwoods are sliced into thin, uniform discs, sanded smooth, then sorted by natural tone to build the gradient along each strand.

The ombré is a signature of Filipino wood-bead work — sequencing individual discs by color so a single material shifts gradually from cream to near-black across the piece. The many-slim-strands construction is the second signature: it turns a light material into a piece that reads as substantial without adding weight.

The clasp is cut from horn, shaped, and hand-polished to a glass-like finish before being fitted as the hook-and-eye that gathers all the strands at the shoulder.
