Five small discs cluster into an off-center drop, growing outward from a single link at the ear wire. The surface is matte and hand-worked, with darker shadow settling into the low points where the light doesn't reach.

  • Material: Silver-plated zinc and brass alloy
  • Color: Silver
  • Drop: 2.3 in (plus hook)
  • Width: 1.3 in
  • Closure: Fish hook
  • Origin: Türkiye

The drop moves as you do, discs shifting against one another with any small motion. Long enough to sit well below the jaw, light enough to wear all day. They read best against a plain neckline where the cluster has room.

Details
  • Cascading multi-disc silhouette
  • Hand-hammered texture on each disc
  • Lightweight alloy build
  • Fish-hook ear wire

Each disc is hand-hammered and silver-plated, so slight variations in tone, texture and patina from piece to piece are normal.

The Story

Five discs, each hand-hammered to give it a slight dome and an uneven face, are graduated in size and linked into a loose off-center cascade. The hammering is the whole point — a hand-finished surface that catches light disc by disc instead of reading uniformly.

The piece is made in Türkiye, where hammering sheet metal by hand to build form and texture is a working method still used in the workshops producing jewelry today. That shows up here as method rather than motif.

Each disc starts as a flat blank, is worked against a metal stake for shape and surface, then plated in silver tone and finished with an oxidized wash that settles into the low points of the hammering. The wash is what gives the discs their darker shadow in the shallows.

Craft & Care
  • Technique: Hand-hammered disc metalwork

Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. Keep away from water, lotion and perfume to protect the plating.

Questions

How long are they?

About 2.3 in from the top of the drop to the bottom, plus the ear hook, and 1.3 in across at the widest point.

Are these solid silver?

No — the base is a zinc and brass alloy with a silver-tone plating, which keeps the earrings light on the ear and more affordable than solid silver.

Will they tarnish?

Some shift in tone or patina is normal with a plated finish. Wiping with a soft, dry cloth and keeping them away from water, lotion and perfume will help the plating last.

How heavy do they feel?

Light. The alloy build keeps the weight down even at this scale.

What kind of ear wire is used?

A standard fish-hook wire, so they go on and off easily.
