Copper is a common working metal in Indian jewelry — soft enough to draw into wire, coil, and hammer by hand, with a warm ruddy tone that deepens once it has been struck. This necklace builds on that open-link tradition, letting light move through the piece and giving it a lighter feel than its bib silhouette suggests.

The layered arrangement uses a single repeated form — one hammered ring, again and again — to build weight and rhythm across the neckline rather than through cast detail or stonework. Up close it reads textural and sculptural; from further off, a bold solid shape.

To make it, an artisan coils copper wire around a mandrel, cuts it into rings, then closes and hammers each one flat on a small anvil. The rings are joined into rows, layered together to build the bib, then finished with a chain and lobster clasp. Every ring passes under the hammer separately — the uneven, light-catching faceting is the hand, not a machine.
