Three shapes stack in a single column — a honey half-moon, a black oval, a blush teardrop — each wrapped in a warm gold bezel with a hand-hammered edge that catches light unevenly.

  • Material: Gold-plated brass
  • Stones: Faceted cat's eye
  • Color: Amber, black, blush
  • Length: 2.75 in
  • Width: 0.75 in
  • Origin: Türkiye

At 2.75 inches, the drop swings from small hinged links, so the three tiers move independently rather than hanging as a solid line. Wide open necklines suit them best — the graduated column reads as sculpture from the side.

Details
  • Three-tier graduated drop
  • Hinged links for movement
  • Leverback closure
  • Hand-hammered bezel edges
  • Antique-gold plated finish

Each bezel is hand-formed and each stone hand-cut, so slight differences in facet pattern, stone tone and bezel edge are normal from one pair to the next.

The Story

Turkish metalwork often builds a piece from a sequence of simple geometric silhouettes rather than a single large stone. The stacked half-moon, oval and teardrop here follow that logic — three shapes reading as one graduated column.

Bezel-setting wraps a collar of metal fully around the stone's edge, holding it without prongs and letting the setting itself read as sculpture. It has stayed a mainstay in Türkiye's workshops, where contemporary ateliers still apply the old bezel and hinge techniques to new stone combinations like this one.

The uneven, hammered edge on each bezel is deliberate — a visible trace of hand tooling rather than a machine-stamped mount. Each bezel starts as a strip of brass, cut and formed around the shape of its stone, then hammered along the edge and burnished closed by hand once the stone is set. Small hinges between the tiers are soldered on last, so the finished earring swings and settles naturally.

Craft & Care
  • Technique: Hand-formed bezel-setting

Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wear. Keep away from moisture, lotion and perfume to preserve the gold plating.

Questions

What are the stones?

Faceted cat's eye — a golden half-moon at the top, a black oval in the middle, and a peach teardrop at the bottom.

How do they close?

A leverback — a hinged closure that clicks shut, suited to the added weight and movement of a three-tier drop.

Will the gold plating wear?

Gold plating over brass shows wear over time with heavy use. Wiping the earrings dry after wearing and keeping them away from moisture, lotion and perfume helps the finish last.

Will mine look exactly like the photo?

Very close, but not identical. Because the bezels are hand-formed and the stones hand-faceted, small differences in edge texture and stone tone are part of the handcraft, not a flaw.

How heavy do they feel?

At 2.75 in long with three stacked stone tiers, they carry noticeable weight and drop-swing — better suited to an evening than a long all-day wear.
