Hand-plating, enameling and stringing mean small differences in color, alignment and finish between pieces.

The construction is a small-workshop technique used across Indian fashion jewelry: die-cut metal links, each shaped like an arrow, are strung one by one along a cotton cord rather than soldered into a rigid chain. The cord is what gives the piece its flex and its close, banded fit.

Each link is stamped, plated, then hand-finished in green enamel before it goes onto the thread. An artisan overlaps the chevrons into a tight herringbone and knots the cord into a button-and-loop closure. Because the assembly is manual, alignment and color shift slightly from one piece to the next.
