Smaller chip beads gather at the front and graduate outward to larger nuggets toward the clasp. Two patterned silver cylinders anchor the composition on either side of the center. Long enough to fall well below the throat without needing a layer beneath.

The turquoise is natural stone, so bead color, veining, and shape vary from bead to bead. No two necklaces are exactly alike.

The Story

Kingman turquoise is mined near Kingman, Arizona, and carries the district's signature blue-to-blue-green color threaded with rust-brown matrix from its host rock. Every stone reads as a distinct map of lines and patches rather than a uniform surface.

Tumbled nuggets favor the stone's natural shape over the symmetry of cut beads — a long-standing approach in Southwestern beadwork. Coral, onyx, and sterling silver rounds are placed along the strand to build rhythm and contrast against the turquoise.

Each bead is selected and laid out by hand rather than machine-matched, so the sequence of colors and shapes is decided one necklace at a time.
