The Story

The piece is made in Türkiye, where hand-soldering small repeated components into chain and jewelry forms is a long-running metalsmithing approach. Rather than casting one continuous piece, the maker builds the necklace tab by tab, soldering each square to the next until the length and drop take shape.

The scroll stamped into each tab is a decorative motif of swirling, symmetrical line work that runs through Anatolian metalwork, textiles and architectural ornament. Repeating it across dozens of small squares turns a single pattern into a rhythm — the source of the piece's structured, architectural read.

Each square is cut and stamped, then oxidized so the engraved recesses darken and the raised metal stays bright. A jeweler solders the small jump rings and beads between tabs one joint at a time, building the two sides of the collar first and then the longer center strand that hangs from the Y-point.
