Because each necklace is assembled and inlaid by hand, bead spacing, stone placement, and color tone vary slightly from piece to piece.

The collar form comes from a Tibetan tradition of layered bead necklaces broken up by metal station beads rather than left as one uninterrupted strand. Multiple thin strands drape more naturally around the neck and collarbone than a single thick strand of the same visual weight, which is why the construction stayed in use long after cheaper materials became available.

The color palette references three stones long associated with Himalayan adornment: turquoise, coral, and lapis. Here they are reconstituted composites rather than solid natural gem, which keeps the color saturated and consistent across a multi-strand piece.

Each station is cast or cut in brass, hand-filed, and finished with repoussé line work before a cabochon of stone composite is pressed into the setting. A stringer then threads the heishi beads into parallel strands and knots each into the stations so the tension holds across all rows. The hook-and-loop closure is sized last so the collar sits flat rather than twisting when worn.
