A slim row of small faceted metal cubes packs tight along a waxed cord, catching light on every edge. A tiny silver bell hangs at the closure, adding a soft chime with each turn of the wrist.

  • Material: Metal cube beads, waxed cord, metal bell charm
  • Color: Brown, gray, or black cord
  • Length: 8 in
  • Closure: Loop, two adjustable settings
  • Finish: Silver-tone, or a dark oxidized tone
  • Origin: Nepal

Worn alone against a bare wrist, the piece reads as clean geometry — a straight run of faceted cubes and nothing else. Layered with other cord or metal bracelets, the cubes add texture and small flashes of light. The bell moves with you, quiet and incidental.

Details
  • Faceted metal cube beads
  • Small metal bell at the closure
  • Loop closure with two adjustable settings
  • Brown, gray, or black waxed cord

Because each piece is strung and knotted by hand, small differences in bead spacing, cord tension and bell placement are normal from one bracelet to the next.

The Story

The bracelet takes its name from Bhaktapur, a city in Nepal long known for its density of small metal, wood and clay workshops clustered around the old squares. The cube-bead-on-cord design is a modern piece built on that base of local metalworking, pairing faceted beads with hand-tied waxed cord rather than reviving a single historic form.

The bell is the signature detail. Bells turn up across Nepali material culture, prized mostly for the sound and movement they add to an object. Here the bell does the same simple work: a soft chime with each turn of the wrist, offered as a detail rather than a symbol.

Each piece is assembled bead by bead. The cord is measured and cut, then cubes are threaded and knotted tight along its length so the faceted edges sit flush against one another. The bell and loop are tied on last, with the knotting set to give the two-setting adjustable fit before the ends are trimmed.

Craft & Care

Wipe clean with a soft dry cloth. Keep the bracelet away from water, lotion and perfume so the cord and bead finish hold up.
