A small saturated-yellow disc sits over a larger white disc, its face covered in loose black scrollwork — solid against pattern, warm against graphic. The two discs overlap just enough to read as one composition.

  • Material: Molded, hand-painted resin
  • Color: Yellow, black, white
  • Length: 1.5 in
  • Width: 1.25 in
  • Origin: Philippines
  • Design: Double-disc drop

The scale is generous without weight — a drop earring you can wear all day. Against a plain white shirt or a solid dress, the yellow anchors and the scrollwork does the talking; layered into prints, they hold their own.

Details
  • Lightweight resin construction
  • Hand-painted graphic pattern
  • Bold color-block palette
  • Double-disc drop silhouette

The scroll pattern on each disc is hand-painted, so line weight and curl vary slightly between the two earrings in a pair.

The Story

The Lola earrings work off a simple move: a plain color disc paired with a patterned one. Yellow anchors the eye; the black scrollwork gives it somewhere to travel. The palette is limited to three tones, which is what makes the graphic hit so directly.

The pattern is brush-drawn rather than printed — loose, curling scrollwork closer in spirit to folk pottery than to fine-line graphics. Every curl carries the slight give of a hand, not a machine.

Each disc starts as a molded resin blank, sanded smooth, then hand-painted freehand over a white base coat. Once the paint cures, the patterned disc and the solid yellow disc are joined and fitted with earring hardware, all by hand in a Philippine workshop.

Craft & Care
  • Technique: Hand-painted resin

Take them off before perfume, lotion or washing hands, and keep them out of direct sunlight. To refresh the finish, work a drop of oil in with a soft cloth.

Questions

How big are they?

They hang approximately 1.5 in long and 1.25 in wide — noticeable but still lightweight.

What are they made of?

Hand-painted resin. A solid yellow top disc and a black-and-white patterned bottom disc.

Will the pattern look the same on both earrings?

Not exactly. Because the scrollwork is painted freehand, small differences in line weight and curl appear between the two discs.

How do I care for them?

Take them off before applying perfume, lotion, or washing your hands, keep them out of direct sunlight, and refresh the finish occasionally with a drop of oil rubbed in with a soft cloth.

Where are they made?

Handcrafted in the Philippines, where each disc is hand-painted before assembly.
