The Story

Kantha is a running-stitch textile tradition rooted in Bengal, historically used to layer worn cotton saris and dhotis into fresh cloth — nothing discarded, everything mended and reused. These earrings apply the same reuse ethic on a smaller scale: offcuts of Kantha fabric are wrapped around wood beads and clustered together on brass findings.

Because the fabric is reclaimed rather than woven to order, no two scraps match. The unplanned color mix is the direct evidence of the material's history — a faded floral next to a hand-stitched line next to a solid indigo.

Each pair is assembled bead by bead: fabric squares cut, wrapped tightly around a wood core, secured, then linked with brass findings into a clustered dangle and finished with an ear wire.
