The Story

The composition follows a construction approach common to Indian metal jewelry: multi-strand nugget beads suspended from a pair of stamped cap terminals. The beads are hand-shaped from sheet and wire and hammered rather than cast, so no two surfaces read the same.

The flared caps are hand-engraved with a fine tool — diamond lattice and scalloped arc lines scored freehand into the metal. The antiqued finish is a deliberate treatment: oxidation darkens the recesses of the engraving so the pattern reads clearly against the brighter high points.
