Two hoops linked through each other, both wrapped edge to edge with cream pearls, the gold wire showing in small warm flashes where it winds between them. The lower hoop swings free.

  • Material: Gold-plated brass, pearls
  • Color: Gold, ivory
  • Length: 3 in
  • Width: 2 in
  • Sold as: Pair
  • Origin: Brazil

The upper circle sits close to the lobe; the lower one drops beneath it, longer and slightly elongated, so the whole earring moves as one piece. Cream and warm gold, worn against a bare neckline where the pearls can catch the light.

Details
  • Interlocking double-hoop silhouette
  • Pearls wired individually along the full circumference
  • Lightweight despite the scale
  • Dangling drop that catches the light

Each pearl is wired on by hand, so slight variations in spacing and pearl placement between pairs are normal.

The Story

The shape is built rather than cast. A brass wire frame is bent into two connected circles, then pearls are threaded onto fine wire and coiled tightly around that frame one at a time, until the metal disappears under a continuous surface of pearl.

The technique sits closer to beadwork than to standard hoop-making. Each wind of wire holds a single pearl in place, and the finished hoop is a record of that repetition — small movements, done evenly, dozens of times per earring.

Keeping the tension even is the harder part. Pearls have to sit flush against one another and the hoop has to hold its round shape without sagging, which comes down to a steady hand across the full circumference.

Craft & Care
  • Technique: Wire-wrapped pearl hoop work

Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after wearing. Store flat or hanging away from moisture and perfume to protect the plating and pearl surface.

Questions

How large are they?

3 in long by 2 in wide across the double hoop.

Are they heavy to wear?

The brass frame is light, and the pearl weight distributes evenly across the hoops so they hang comfortably despite the scale.

Will the gold plating wear off?

With gentle care — avoiding water, perfume and rough handling — the gold plating holds up well. As with any plated jewelry, treat it as an occasion piece rather than daily wear.

Are they for pierced ears?

Yes. These are dangle earrings for pierced ears, with a post at the top of the upper hoop.
