The antique finish is applied by hand, so surface texture and tone shift slightly from piece to piece.

The pairing is deliberately simple — one circle, one square, hung in sequence on a cord. The disc's pitted, weathered surface reads as organic and unplanned; the square's clean cut-out frame is precise and architectural. Texture set against structure.

The piece draws on Anatolia's long metalworking history but reinterprets it through a pared-down, contemporary lens rather than reproducing a specific traditional form. The antiquing on the disc gives it a surface that looks aged and hand-worked; the open square is unmistakably modern in its geometry.

It starts as flat sheet metal, cut and pierced to form the square, then finished at the edges by hand. The disc is worked separately — hammered and stippled to build the uneven surface — then both pieces are oxidized and polished back to bring out the contrast between recessed dark areas and raised highlights.
