A near-circle split into three: a black-and-white grid on the left, a rippling wave-stripe on the right, and a smooth mustard bar wedged upright between them. Two busy patterns held apart by one calm plane of color.

  • Material: Resin pendant, rubber cord, black resin beads
  • Color: Black, white, mustard
  • Length: 16 in with 2 in adjustable extension
  • Closure: Adjustable clasp
  • Origin: Philippines
  • Metal: Silver-tone alloy clasp
  • Pendant: 4 in L x 3 in W

The pendant reads large across the collarbone but stays light on the neck, and the matte rubber cord keeps the graphic pieces as the whole event. Works over a plain white tee, a black tunic, or anything solid that leaves the pattern room to move.

Each resin panel is poured and finished by hand, so pattern density and edge finish vary slightly from piece to piece.

The Story

Resin is the working material of a long-running costume jewelry trade in the Philippines, where studios shape it alongside horn, shell and wood into pieces built for scale rather than delicacy. The graphic language here — a tight check set against a rippling wave, both in high-contrast black and white — belongs to that contemporary resin vocabulary rather than to any inherited motif.

The mustard bar at the center is left unpatterned on purpose. It is the pause between two busier panels, and it is where the color lives. Pattern against solid, black-and-white against a single warm hue, is a recognizable move in this design tradition.

Each panel is poured or set flat, then cut, shaped and hand-finished so the edges carry small differences from piece to piece. The three panels are fitted together, drilled, and strung onto rubber cord with glossy black beads and a silver-tone clasp.

Craft & Care
  • Technique: Hand-shaped and finished resin panels

Keep away from water, perfume and lotion, and store out of direct sunlight. Restore the sheen occasionally with a drop of oil worked in with a soft cloth.

Questions

What is the pendant made from?

Resin, shaped and finished by hand in three panels — two patterned in black and white, one in solid mustard yellow.

Is the length adjustable?

Yes. The cord is 16 in with a 2 in adjustable clasp, so you can fine-tune where the pendant sits.

How heavy is the pendant?

It is large in scale at roughly 4 in by 3 in, but the resin construction keeps it light on the neck.

How do I care for it?

Keep it away from water, perfume and lotion, store it out of direct sunlight, and refresh the sheen with a drop of oil worked in with a soft cloth.

Will the pattern look exactly like the photo?

Very close. Small variations in pattern and finish are part of the hand-finishing.
