Three flat discs cascade asymmetrically off one side of an open-ring gold chain, each weathered to a blue-green patina with a rough gold center pushed bright through the middle.

  • Material: Lead- and nickel-free brass
  • Color: Turquoise and gold
  • Length: 28.5 in, adjustable
  • Drop: Largest disc 2 in across
  • Closure: Bar-and-loop toggle
  • Origin: India

The largest disc lands roughly two inches across and rests to one side of the collarbone, the smaller two stepping up the chain toward the opposite shoulder. Warm gold against oxidized blue-green — one contrast doing the work.

Details
  • Asymmetric three-disc arrangement
  • Hand-linked ring chain
  • Bar-and-loop toggle closure
  • Raised brass center on each disc
  • One-of-a-kind patina finish

Because each disc is hand-forged and hand-patinated, patina color and light surface scuffing from finishing vary slightly from piece to piece.

The Story

Each disc starts as a flat cut of sheet brass, hammered by hand over a form until it takes on a slight dome and an uneven, organic edge. The raised center is left bare and burnished bright; the surrounding surface is treated with a patina solution and heat to draw the blue-green color out of the metal itself. The smith works by eye, so no two discs oxidize in quite the same pattern.

The chain is built the same way — rings cut, shaped and hand-linked one at a time, then hammered. That is what gives it its faceted, slightly irregular sparkle rather than the uniform run of a machine-made cable.

Made by metalsmiths in Northern India, working from skills learned at the bench rather than from a manual. Any light scuffing on the surface is a byproduct of the hand-forging, not a flaw.

Craft & Care
  • Technique: Hand-forged brass with hand-applied patina

Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth. Keep it away from water, perfume and abrasives so the patina stays intact.

Questions

Is the necklace adjustable?

Yes. It fastens with a bar-and-loop toggle and has a 28.5 in adjustable length.

Is this hypoallergenic?

The brass is lead- and nickel-free, which makes it a safer choice for sensitive skin than many alloyed metals.

Will the blue patina wear off over time?

The patina is hand-applied and bonded to the brass. Keep the necklace dry and away from perfume, lotion and abrasive contact, and wipe it with a soft dry cloth after wear.

Why do the discs look slightly different from each other?

Each disc is individually hand-forged and hand-patinated, so small variations in shape, texture and coloring are part of the piece rather than a manufacturing inconsistency.
