Artisan made with love

A dense cluster of bezel-set cabochons cascades across the front — crimson, teal, mustard, amethyst and cobalt packed edge to edge in gold-tone rings, opening from a slim strand of textile beads that circles the neck.

  • Material: Recycled textile, gold-tone alloy, lead- and nickel-free
  • Stones: Tiger's eye, carnelian, mixed cabochons
  • Color: Multicolor
  • Length: 16 in circumference
  • Drop: 2.5 in
  • Closure: Memory wire, adjustable
  • Origin: India

Small gold-tone coin charms drop from the lower edge of the cluster, catching light and adding motion at the collarbone. The scale is bold without weight — a wide bib silhouette that reads best against a plain neckline where the color can do the work.
Details
  • Adjustable memory-wire construction
  • Cascading bib silhouette
  • Mixed natural gemstone cabochons
  • Dangling gold-tone coin charms
  • One-of-a-kind color combination on every piece

Each necklace is worked by hand from recycled fabric and mixed cabochons, so slight variations in bead color, stone placement and pattern are normal from piece to piece.

The Story

The bead itself is the technique. Strips of recycled fabric — offcuts from India's garment and sari trade — are wound tightly around a bead core, layer over layer, until the fabric fully seals the shape. A fixative holds the wrap so it does not loosen with wear.

The bib is built by hand from there: gemstone cabochons are set into gold-tone bezels, then wired together with the fabric beads in dense clusters until the front takes shape. Coin charms are attached last, and the whole piece is strung on memory wire for its adjustable fit.

Because the fabric is reclaimed, no two batches match. Every necklace carries its own particular arrangement of color and stone.

Craft & Care
  • Technique: Recycled textile bead craft

Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth. Store flat, away from moisture, perfume and direct sun to protect the textile beads and gemstone finishes.

Questions

How adjustable is the fit?

The necklace is built on flexible memory wire with a 16 in circumference, which gently adjusts to different neck sizes without a clasp.

What are the small round beads made from?

They are hand-wrapped in recycled textile scraps, so their color and pattern vary piece to piece.

Is this necklace hypoallergenic?

The metal findings are a lead- and nickel-free alloy. If you have sensitive skin, avoid prolonged contact with moisture or perfume.

Will my necklace look exactly like the one photographed?

Not exactly. Because it is made from recycled fabric and mixed natural stones, each piece has its own combination of colors and cabochons.

How should I store it?

Lay it flat in a dry spot away from direct sunlight and moisture to help the textile beads and gemstone settings hold their color.

Not as colorful as I had hoped

Not as colorful as I had hoped. Fits fine, but the colors are so dull, I’m not sure I will wear it.
