Each pendant is hand-cast and hand-finished, so small differences in surface texture and antiquing are normal from one piece to the next.

The piece comes from Türkiye's alloy-casting workshops, which specialize in figurative metalwork — animal-form pendants built to read dimensionally rather than flat. The making, not the imagery, is what ties it to its place of origin.

Each pendant starts as a wax or metal master. Molten pewter zinc alloy is cast into a mold that captures the texture of the ears and trunk, then cleaned of seams by hand. An antiquing solution darkens the recesses; hand-rubbing brings the raised planes back to a brighter tone. That contrast is what gives the finish its sculptural depth.

The elephant is a common subject in figurative jewelry worldwide, but it is not native to Turkish folklore. Read it as a piece of bold metal craft rather than as an assigned symbol.
