The Story

The composition borrows from architectural line rather than ornament — five squares stepped down a vertical axis, each slightly smaller than the one above. The discs are not flat; they are gently domed and hand-contoured, so the geometry reads as soft-edged and the brushed surface catches light unevenly as it moves.

Türkiye's metalworking centers produce both traditional silver work and a strong contemporary design scene that reinterprets metal through minimalist eyes. This piece belongs to the second thread: clean line and proportion, no historic motif, current design.

Each square is cast in a pewter-based alloy and then hand-contoured so the face curves rather than lying flat — a step that has to be done piece by piece. The discs are graduated by hand-selected size, linked in descending order with small connecting tabs, then brushed to a matte silver-tone finish and fitted to the wire collar.
