The design is a small woven textile rendered in glass and metal. Flat, two-hole Miyuki Tila beads are threaded so tightly inside the brass rectangle that they read as a continuous grid — closer to a miniature stained-glass window than a strung bead.

Miyuki Tila is a Japanese glass bead prized for its flat, square shape and two parallel holes, which let the beads lock together with almost no gap. Pairing that Japanese format with Colombian handwork is what gives the piece its particular color sense: saturated red, teal, blush and warm gold sequenced as considered color-blocking rather than random pattern.

Each earring starts as loose beads and a bare brass frame. The artisan threads and weaves the beads row by row, fitting each bead's two holes onto the thread so the grid sits flush inside the frame.
