Each disc is cut, sanded and strung by hand, so slight variations in shape, size and sheen from disc to disc are normal.

The three-strand silhouette borrows from Tibetan dress, where women layer multi-strand necklaces of coral, turquoise, amber and silver across the chest. The stacked, full-at-the-collarbone habit carries over; the material has been swapped for lightweight resin.

The translation is deliberate. In place of stone and silver, a pared-back monochrome palette, so the emphasis moves off gemstone and color onto form and repetition. The bones of the design — three tiers sitting one over the other — come from the original.

Each disc is cut, sanded and sorted by hand before stringing. The maker builds the strands in sequence, adjusting the graduation so the fullest discs fall at the center front, then knots and finishes the piece by hand.
