Three strands of small round beads crowd the neckline in a scatter of saturated color — pink, cobalt, teal, red, ochre — punctuated by an anchor of smooth purple amethyst at the front.

  • Material: Recycled-fabric-wrapped wood beads, gemstone beads, alloy
  • Stones: Amethyst, tiger's eye, carnelian, onyx
  • Color: Multicolor
  • Length: 22 in, 3 in extender
  • Closure: Alloy clasp
  • Origin: India
  • Bead diameter: 6–8 mm

The scale sits close to the collarbone and reads as one continuous field of color rather than a repeated pattern. Wear it over a plain crew or open collar and let it do the work — the mix of matte textile and polished stone carries the whole outfit.

Details
  • Three-strand design
  • Individually fabric-wrapped wood beads
  • Mixed gemstone accents
  • Adjustable length with 3 in extender
  • Reclaimed wood and textile scrap

Each necklace is hand-wrapped from scrap fabric and stone, so bead colors, patterns and gemstone placement vary from piece to piece.

The Story

Each bead starts as a scrap. Small pieces of recycled fabric are wrapped tight around wood beads salvaged from furniture-making and sealed by hand so the cloth holds its shape and color. Because no two scraps repeat, no two beads do either.

The approach draws on a broader resourcefulness in Indian textile work, where offcuts, worn saris and mill remnants are routinely reused — in patched quilts, in strip-woven rugs. Here it is applied at bead scale, turning fabric waste into the textured surface of the necklace.

The gemstone beads threaded throughout — amethyst, tiger's eye, carnelian, onyx — add weight and shine and a cool, smooth contrast to the matte wrapped beads. They are grouped loosely rather than pattern-matched, so the stones scatter differently on every piece.

Craft & Care
  • Technique: Hand-wrapped recycled textile beadwork

Keep away from water and perfume. Wipe down with a soft dry cloth after wearing — the fabric-wrapped beads are not made to get wet.

Questions

How long is the necklace, and is it adjustable?

It adjusts up to 22 in with a 3 in extender chain, so you can wear it at a shorter or longer length.

What are the beads made from?

Most are wood salvaged from furniture scrap and individually wrapped in recycled textile. These are mixed with natural gemstone beads — amethyst, tiger's eye, carnelian and onyx.

Will my necklace look exactly like the photo?

Not exactly. Each bead is wrapped from a unique scrap and the gemstones are mixed rather than pattern-matched, so your piece will have its own combination of colors and stones.

How should I care for it?

Keep it away from water and perfume, and wipe it down with a soft dry cloth after wearing. The wrapped fabric beads are not meant to get wet.

Who makes this necklace?

It is handmade by women artisans in India through fair trade production, using reclaimed wood and textile scrap.
