Every bead is wrapped by hand from a different textile scrap, and the gemstones are naturally variable — so no two necklaces share the same color placement or stone mix.

The beads at the cluster are wood cores individually wrapped by hand in scraps of cotton and printed textile, then strung so densely that fabric — not metal, not stone — becomes the necklace's dominant texture. The wood cores are furniture off-cuts; the textile is upcycled rather than cut new, so the palette is a record of whatever scrap colors ran through the workshop that batch.

The gemstones — amethyst, tiger's eye and carnelian — are scattered through the cluster rather than set in a pattern, glossy against the matte fabric. Small gold-tone sequins pin the surface and flicker between the beads.

The technique draws on the South Asian instinct for reworking leftover cloth — the same one behind kantha stitching — turning small mismatched scraps into something considered rather than discarded. Made by women artisans in India under a fair trade production setup.
