The Story

Seed-bead weaving is a Guatemalan craft: rows of tiny glass beads threaded by hand into panels that hang, drape or fringe. A single misplaced bead shifts the whole pattern, so the work is slow and counted.

The triangle-and-stripe motif at the top belongs to Guatemala's graphic beadwork, echoing the geometry long used in the country's textile weaving. In a spare cream-and-black palette, the pattern reads clean and modern while keeping the structure of the technique.

Below the woven panel, the fringe strands are strung and knotted individually so the drape falls evenly and moves with the wearer instead of sitting stiff. A nickel-free earwire is added last.
