The chunky, irregular beads echo hand-formed silver nuggets long favored in this style of layered necklace. Imperfection in the surface reads as a mark of handwork rather than a flaw to be corrected.

Sheet or cast metal is shaped into rounded beads, then worked with punches and hammers so each surface catches light differently. The cone caps are engraved separately with the diamond and line motifs before being fitted to the strands, and an antiquing treatment darkens the recesses to bring the pattern forward.
