A wide band split into two moods: one half a raised panel of dense scrollwork and beaded dots, the other a smooth, tapered wrap that opens at the back. The blackened recesses throw the fine silverwork forward.

  • Material: Sterling silver (.925)
  • Color: Silver
  • Size: 7, 8, 9 (slightly adjustable)
  • Finish: Oxidized
  • Origin: Indonesia
  • Ring design: Wide band, open wraparound back

The proportion is deliberately substantial — a chunk of silver on the finger rather than a whisper. The open back lets the band flex to fit, and the wrap sits high enough that the scrollwork stays visible from every angle as the hand moves.

  • Handmade filigree scrollwork
  • Hand-applied bead detailing
  • Oxidized antique finish
  • Wide band profile

Each ring is handmade, so small variations in the filigree scrollwork and oxidized shading are normal.

The Story

The swirling vine-and-scroll pattern, built from soldered silver wire and fine beaded granules, comes out of Indonesia's silversmithing tradition. Family workshops there have long refined filigree and granulation — drawing silver into fine wire, coiling it into scrolls, and studding it with tiny fused granules.

The open, curling motif belongs to a broader Balinese vocabulary of growth and movement, applied for decades across rings, cuffs and pendants. It is a design language rather than a fixed symbol.

The oxidized finish is a deliberate final step: a solution darkens the low points of the pattern, then the raised wirework is hand-polished bright. The contrast is what makes the granulation legible.

Craft & Care
  • Technique: Balinese filigree and granulation silverwork

Store in a dry pouch away from moisture and perfume. Polish gently with a soft silver cloth to lift surface tarnish without flattening the oxidized detail in the recesses.

Questions

Is this real sterling silver?

Yes — .925 sterling silver, stamped, with an oxidized finish applied to bring out the filigree detail.

How adjustable is the fit?

The open back allows slight adjustment within the size range. Order closest to your usual ring size for the most comfortable fit.

Will the oxidized finish wear off?

The darkened recesses may lighten a little with years of handling, which is normal. Gentle polishing of the raised areas keeps the contrast crisp without stripping the detail.

Will my ring look exactly like the photo?

Very close, but small variations in the scrollwork and shading are expected — each ring is worked by hand.

How should I clean it?

Wipe with a soft silver polishing cloth. Avoid soaking and harsh chemical cleaners, which can dull the oxidized detail.
