Leaving the wood unlacquered is a deliberate choice. The matte surface lets the grain and hand-finishing show through, and it keeps the necklace visually quiet up close even as the scale reads bold from a distance.

Strands are sorted by shade, strung by eye, and layered together to build the chunky structure. Because the sorting is done by hand, no two necklaces alternate in exactly the same rhythm.
