The Story

The form is a torque — an open-ended rigid collar that sits at the base of the neck instead of draping. It's shaped so the band springs open just enough to slip on, then holds its curve without a clasp.

Three brass rods are plated separately — silver, gold, copper — and run side by side rather than blended into a single alloy. Pairing metals of different tone is a familiar device in Indian metalsmithing, giving the piece dimension without adding stones or texture.

The loops where the strands meet at the front are left visible rather than tucked inside a fastener. Showing rather than hiding the join is a hallmark of hand-formed metal work — the technique is treated as part of the design.
