Two rows of hand-stamped triangles face each other across a fine central rule, wrapping the full circumference of a wide, tapered band. Darkened recesses throw the pattern into sharp relief against polished metal.

  • Material: Hilltribe silver, higher purity than 925 sterling
  • Color: Silver
  • Width: 0.45 in at widest
  • Size: US 8–11
  • Finish: Oxidized
  • Origin: Thailand

On the hand it reads as substantial without being heavy — nearly half an inch across the face, narrowing toward the back for an easy fit. Wear it alone, or stack it with plainer silver bands and let the stamped rhythm do the work.

Because the etching and oxidizing are done by hand, small differences in depth, spacing and patina from one ring to the next are normal.

The Story

The band's texture comes from Hilltribe silversmithing, worked in the hill communities of northern Thailand. The alloy carries a higher silver content than standard 925 sterling — slightly softer in weight, with a quieter luster.

The triangular etching and dotted border are built up with hand-held steel punches, struck one mark at a time around the full circumference. Once the pattern is set, the ring is oxidized so the recesses read black, then polished so the raised silver catches the light against the darkened ground.

Sizing runs US 8 through 11 and the band is deliberately unisex — a substantial everyday ring in the tradition of hilltribe silverwork, not styled specifically as a men's or women's piece.

Craft & Care

Questions

What is Hilltribe silver, and how does it differ from sterling?

Hilltribe silver is an alloy worked by silversmiths in the hill communities of northern Thailand. It carries a higher silver content than standard 925 sterling, which gives it a slightly softer luster and weight.

Is this ring made for men or women?

It's designed as a unisex piece, sized US 8 through 11 to sit comfortably on any hand.

How is the pattern on the band created?

The triangles and dots are hand-stamped, one strike at a time, using steel punches. The ring is then oxidized so the darkened recesses set the design in contrast.

How should I care for this ring?

Wipe it with a soft silver polishing cloth after wear and store it in a dry pouch, away from other jewelry, to slow natural tarnishing.

Will the etching wear down or the finish change over time?

The oxidized recesses may soften gradually with wear, and light surface polish is normal. It's part of how hand-finished silver ages and doesn't affect the ring's structure.
