Each hoop is beaded by hand, so color placement and pattern shift slightly from one pair to the next.

The hoop face is covered in dozens of tiny glass seed beads strung row by row until the color pattern reads as one continuous design. The diamonds and stripes in cobalt, orange, yellow, pink and white draw on the same geometric vocabulary found in Guatemala's textile weaving — repeating motifs that carry regional and family significance in woven huipiles and fajas.

Rendered in beadwork rather than thread, the pattern wraps completely around the hoop rather than sitting on one flat face. The color sequence keeps shifting as the earring moves — a detail that rewards a closer look.

Making a pair starts with sorting loose seed beads by color, then stringing them onto fine thread wound tightly around a brass hoop, row after row. Each color change is placed by hand and kept aligned with the row before it, so the pattern stays even as it curves.
