Small round beads run the length of both rims, framing a wide face worked over in irregular hammer facets that catch light unevenly across the piece.

Wide enough to hold its own on the wrist, the beaded border gives the cuff a distinct silhouette against skin or the edge of a cuffed sleeve. The open back can be pressed gently to narrow or widen the fit.

Because each cuff is hammered and beaded by hand, the hammer marks, edge beading and exact curve of the band vary slightly from piece to piece.

The Story

Flat sheet brass is cut to size, then shaped by hand into a curved band. The face is struck repeatedly with small hammers, each blow leaving a dimple that catches light differently as the wrist moves.

Along both edges, small beads of metal are formed and set in a continuous line — a granulation-style finish that defines the border and reinforces the raw edge of the sheet. The maker's tool marks stay visible across the surface rather than being polished away.

Questions

Is the cuff adjustable?

Yes. Gently squeeze the opening to narrow it or ease it open to widen it, and it will hold the new shape.

Will the brass tarnish?

Brass can develop a natural patina with wear and moisture. Wipe it dry after wearing and store it away from water and perfume to keep the gold-tone finish.

Why does the hammering look uneven?

Each facet is struck by hand, so the pattern is intentionally irregular rather than a uniform machine texture.

Is it comfortable for all-day wear?

The cuff is open-backed and adjustable, so it can be shaped to sit against the wrist rather than clamped tight.
