The Story

The pendant borrows its vocabulary from Art Deco design — stacked horizontal bars, a vertical crossbar, and a single oval set on axis below. The composition holds two opposites at once: hard-edged geometry above, a soft mineral shape below.

Jasper is an opaque quartz with cloudy, mottled coloring. Here it lands as a pale sea-green, veined and matte, working precisely because the stone will never quite match the crispness of the metalwork around it.

The collar is assembled by hand in a U.S. studio. Brass wire is shaped into the open arc, the bone-toned bars and crossbar are cut and finished, and the jasper is cut and polished into a smooth cabochon, set so the crossbar pins it against the bars above.
