The surface is hammered by hand, so the pattern of dimples and the way the light catches will vary slightly from piece to piece.

The pendant leans on two of the oldest moves in metalwork: hammering a flat sheet until it catches light unevenly, and cutting a clean negative shape out of solid metal. The result reads as modernist rather than ornamental, but the process behind it is entirely by hand.

Türkiye has a long, continuous history of hand-worked metal, from Anatolian silversmithing to the coppersmith and jewelry quarters still active across the country. Contemporary designers working in that tradition often push it toward the graphic and pared-down, letting texture and geometry do the whole job.

The open square below the circle is a structural choice more than a motif — a void that lightens a large pendant and gives the piece its architectural silhouette. An old technique used to build something distinctly current.
