A row of color blocks — sage, ivory, mustard, dusty pink and dark brown — wraps the lower curve of a gold-toned hoop, building into a compact crescent of pattern that fades into bare metal at the top.

The beading concentrates weight at the base, so the hoops tilt slightly forward and the color band reads front-on. Bare metal along the upper curve keeps the silhouette open and clean. Substantial in visual weight, light on the ear.

The Story

The palette — clay, sage, ivory, mustard and dark brown — comes out of Guatemalan textile tradition, translated here from woven cloth into glass seed beads strung on wire.

The semi-crescent shape is a working choice as much as an aesthetic one: concentrating the beadwork along the lower curve keeps the earring lightweight while giving the color pattern room to build gradually from one shade into the next.

Beading like this is done by hand, one row at a time, wrapping strands around the brass ring. Each pair is checked for even tension and secure spacing before the latch closure goes on.
