The Story

The palette — clay, sage, ivory, mustard and dark brown — comes out of Guatemalan textile tradition, translated here from woven cloth into glass seed beads strung on wire.

The semi-crescent shape is a working choice as much as an aesthetic one: concentrating the beadwork along the lower curve keeps the earring lightweight while giving the color pattern room to build gradually from one shade into the next.

Beading like this is done by hand, one row at a time, wrapping strands around the brass ring. Each pair is checked for even tension and secure spacing before the latch closure goes on.
