Each bead is wrapped by hand from recycled cloth, so color, texture and finish shift from one piece to the next.

The Story

The beads are cores wound with strips of recycled textile — softened cotton and silk salvaged from worn saris rather than cut from new cloth. What was pattern on someone else's fabric becomes the surface of a bead.

Because the source cloth arrives in varied dye lots, the palette shifts across the strands: rust deepening to wine, terracotta softening to cream, a printed fragment surfacing next to a solid. The irregularity is built into the material itself.

Each bead is wrapped by hand, one at a time, then strung in sequence with small brass spacers. The five strands join at a shared clasp so they hang at graduated lengths.
