A dense cluster of fabric-wrapped beads gathers at the throat in shades of ink, dove blue and slate, with printed swirls threading through the solids for movement.

  • Material: Fabric-covered beads, gold-plated brass
  • Color: Black, gray, dove blue
  • Length: 21 in
  • Chain: Gold-plated brass
  • Origin: India
  • Extender: 2.5 in

The bib sits high on the collarbone, all its weight forward, so the composition reads as a single sculptural shape rather than a strand. Matte and glossy beads catch the light differently across the cluster. Best against a plain neckline that lets the density speak.

Details
  • Clustered bib silhouette
  • Mixed fabric prints and textures
  • Linked gold-plated brass chain
  • 2.5 in adjustable extender
  • One-of-a-kind by handwork

Each bead is individually wrapped and clustered by hand, so print placement, bead shape and cluster density vary slightly from one necklace to the next. A bead that loosens in transit can be slid back through its chain link.

The Story

The beads here start as printed fabric, not stone or glass. Each scrap is wrapped tightly around a bead core and stitched into place, so the print sits smoothly and the bead keeps its shape.

Rather than a single strand, the composition builds through dozens of small beaded elements wired cluster by cluster onto a linked chain. Mixing solid black and gray with a lighter dove-blue print inside one cluster is how the movement enters — no gemstone, no enamel, just contrast in the textile itself.

The work is done by hand from start to finish by women artisans in India. That is why the spacing, fullness and print placement shift slightly from one piece to the next.

Craft & Care
  • Technique: Fabric wrapped over bead cores, wired in clusters onto a linked chain

Wipe with a soft, dry cloth and store flat, away from moisture, perfume and direct sun. The fabric-covered beads should never be soaked or scrubbed.

Questions

What are the beads made of?

Each bead is a core wrapped tightly in printed fabric by hand — not glass, resin or stone. That is what gives the necklace its soft, textile look and slightly varied bead shapes.

How long is the necklace, and is it adjustable?

Approximately 21 in with a 2.5 in extender, so you can adjust the fit to sit exactly where you want it.

Will it match another necklace exactly?

No two are identical. Because the fabric beads are cut, wrapped and clustered by hand, print placement and bead grouping vary slightly from piece to piece.

How do I clean and store it?

Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth and lay it flat in a drawer or pouch. Avoid water, perfume and lotion, which can damage the fabric-covered beads.

A bead came loose during shipping. Is it damaged?

No, this happens occasionally with the clustered design. Slide the bead back through the nearest chain link to reattach it.
