The beads are wood and hand-dyed, so grain, tone and shape shift slightly from one bead — and one necklace — to the next.

Wood is a working material in Indian jewelry — light enough to build multi-strand pieces that would feel heavy in metal or stone. The beads here are turned on a lathe from local wood, sanded, then dyed in small batches, which is why the peach tone shifts slightly from one bead to the next.

Brass appears as small hand-cut discs with wavy edges, set between every bead as spacers. The wave gives each disc its own profile and puts a bit of movement into the strand as it turns.

The three-strand drape follows a South Asian preference for layered necklaces — depth built through repetition and rhythm rather than a single focal point.
